Recently, the semi-finals of the first "Great Wall Cup" Information Security Triathlon were held in four regions: Guizhou, Shaanxi, Guangdong, and Tianjin. Li Canhui, the Vice Dean of the School of New Media Technology, led four students majoring in Computer Network Technology, namely Lu Xuanjin, Zhao Feng, Li Junyi, and Zeng Guoxiong, to compete in the Guizhou region. They competed on the same stage with teams from undergraduate institutions such as the National University of Defense Technology, Central South University, and Xiangtan University. Ultimately, they achieved the third prize, becoming the only vocational college in Hunan Province to win an award.
The first "Great Wall Cup" Information Security Triathlon was guided by the Office of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission and organized by the China Information Technology Security Evaluation Center. With the theme "Network Intelligence Attack and Defense, Opening a New Era of Digital Security", this competition attracted over 4,800 participants from more than 1,100 teams representing 31 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and special administrative regions nationwide.
The Computer Network Technology major of the School of New Media Technology is a provincial characteristic specialty of our college and a key major of the "Chuyi" high-level major group in Hunan Province. Additionally, the college is also a cybersecurity base in Changsha City and a base for the construction of national-level training projects. Leveraging its professional advantages, the School of New Media Technology has been deepening the reform of teachers, teaching materials and teaching methods, striving to integrate professional learning with vocational skills competitions, and effectively improving the quality of talent cultivation. It has made significant contributions to cultivating high-quality cybersecurity talents needed for the strategy of building a strong cyber nation and the development of the digital economy.
