Recently, the highly anticipated Stories of Dunhuang animated series has been airing on CCTV-14, bringing a visual and emotional feast to a wide audience. The series was rated as an outstanding domestic TV animation for the fourth quarter of 2023.
Cui Shuang, a faculty member from the Animation Design major of our School of Visual Art, was responsible for the scene design of this animated series. Cui Shuang stated that this was a rare learning opportunity. By participating in a real corporate project, not only did she enhance her professional capabilities in animation design, but she also improved the level of project-based teaching. Additionally, the project team adhered to the intention of preserving excellent traditional Chinese culture, helping the audience, especially young people, to strengthen cultural confidence and enhance national pride.
It is reported that the Stories of Dunhuang animated series was created by the CCTV Animation Group. The series centers on the theme of "harmonious coexistence and inclusive cooperation," vividly depicting the cultural and artistic exchanges along the Silk Road. It showcases the historical rise and fall of Dunhuang and the inclusive spirit of the Chinese nation, reviving the grandeur of Dunhuang's thousand-year legacy.
