Recently, the 2024 class of the Character Image Design major at the School of Visual Art held their graduation design exhibition in the Star Mini Theater of the Art Building. HNMMC’s Secretary of the CPC Committee, Li Sanfu, President He Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee, Xie Jingwei, Vice Presidents Cheng Guizhen, Xu Jingxue, Zhu Dan, the Discipline Committee Secretary Yang Jinhui, and Vice President Shen Jianfei attended the event. Leaders from related functional departments and secondary schools participated in the observation. Leaders from the college-enterprise cooperation unit, Changsha Watsons Personal Products Store Co., Ltd., were invited to watch the exhibition on site.
Themed "Integration·Inheriting the Past and Embracing the Present", the exhibition included several series such as Ethnic New Fashion, Cultural Relic Adventures, Oriental Elegance·New Chinese Style, and Urban Memories. Utilizing the course on ideological and political education as a platform, the exhibition adhered to cultural confidence and the principle of preserving the essence while fostering innovation. Under the meticulous guidance of professional teachers, students delved into the elements of China's excellent traditional culture and combined them with modern aesthetic trends to finely polish and design nearly 60 sets of unique costumes that made a spectacular appearance during the performance. The event not only showcased the solid professional foundation and innovative capabilities of the students in the Character Image Design major but also collectively demonstrated the results of the college's talent training over the years.
In recent years, the Character Image Design major has seriously studied and implemented Xi Jinping's Thoughts on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, adhered to the motto "Creativity Lights Up Your Life", and maintained the spirit of "Spreading Positive Energy" of the college. The major has placed great emphasis on integrating ideological and political courses into the curriculum and actively explored the practice of "the second combination". Focusing on professional qualities and job skill training as the main thread, and combining theory with practice as the pathway, a multi-level professional practice curriculum system has been established, including individual skills, comprehensive skills, application skills, and job-specific practices. This approach continually guides students in inheriting China's excellent traditional culture, aiming to cultivate high-quality, versatile talents with innovative spirits and cultural confidence. The employment quality and satisfaction of students have steadily increased.
