Recently, the "Chuyi Cup" Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges for the higher vocational group in Tour Guide Service concluded at Huaihua Vocational & Technical College. Xu Cailin, a student of Leisure Services and Management major under the guidance of Zheng Xi, a teacher from the School of International Communication, won the second prize. Another student from the same major, Yang Yuanfei, under the guidance of teacher Hu Song, won the third prize.
The competition consisted of three modules: tour guide competence and professional skills test, English oral test for tour guides, and talent application. It focused on examining the comprehensive qualities of the contestants, including their ability to guide tours, English speaking skills, and talent presentation.
The achievement was the result of the joint efforts of the instructors and the participating students. The School of International Communication has been using skills competitions as a means to improve both the professional skill level of students and the educational and teaching level of teachers. This has fully demonstrated the positive spirit of the college's teachers and students, making a due contribution to the college's goal of "constructing ‘Double High’ and establishing vocational undergraduate programs".
