Recently, the English Speech and Writing Contest for the higher vocational group at 2024 "Chuyi Cup" Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges concluded successfully at Hunan International Business Vocational College. After fierce competition, six students under the guidance of teachers from our School of International Communication won four second prizes and two third prizes.
The English Speech and Writing Contest for the higher vocational group, as a special event of the "Chuyi Cup" Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges, attracted a total of participating 63 teams and 324 contestants. Teachers Deng Xin, Chen Siyu, and Zhou Yingying from the School of International Communication guided Guo Jieheng from the Business English class 2203, Wu Weijia from the Broadcasting and Hosting class 2203, and Li Yisha from the Broadcasting and Hosting class 2201 to secure the second prize in the Speech category; Teacher Wu Shu guided Ren Xingyu from the Computer Network Technology class 2102 to win the second prize in the Writing category, while Chen Pinrong and Zhou Yingying respectively guided Xiang Meihua from the Business English class 2101 and Pan Yongjie from the Film and Television Directing class 2202 to win the third prize in the Writing category.
This event aims to improve the comprehensive abilities of higher vocational college students in using English for workplace communication and writing. The achievements reflect the joint efforts of the instructors and contestants, fully demonstrating the professional level of education and teaching in the School of International Communication, as well as the comprehensive quality of the contestants.
