On December 1st, the opening ceremony of HNMMC Competition Site for the 2024 "Chuyi Cup" Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges was grandly held in the college's Academic Lecture Hall. A total of 371 contestants from brother institutions across the province competed in three events for higher vocational and technical group: Environmental Art Design, Digital Product Design and Development, and Integrated Media Content Planning and Production.

At the opening ceremony, Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee, Li Sanfu, delivered the opening speech. Zhang Dejun, the first deputy director of the competition site, gave a speech. The head of the expert group of the competition items, the person in charge of the competition items, representatives of the contestants, and representatives of the guiding teachers attended the ceremony. Shen Jianfei, a member of HNMMC's CPC Committee and Vice President, hosted the opening ceremony.
Zhang Dejun pointed out that Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges has followed the pace of the national competition for 16 years, undergoing an extraordinary journey. After 16 years of development, the competition has become an important platform for promoting education, learning, building, and reforming through competitions, vigorously promoting the glorious tradition of labor, the value of skills, and the spirit of creation in this great era, driving the integration of industry and education, and college-enterprise cooperation, and advancing the reform and development of vocational education. The competition in this year, while fully aligning with the setup of the national competition events, also incorporates Hunan's vocational education characteristics, setting up 160 student events and 17 teacher events. The first stage of the competition is spread across 80 sites, with more than 11,000 students and teachers registered to compete.
Li Sanfu warmly welcomed the leaders, experts, guiding teachers, and participating students who came to the competition and expressed his commitment to being a good host and providing high-quality, high-standard service guarantees. He emphasized that hosting the competition is not only a vivid practice of implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on the strategy of building a strong manufacturing country and the work of skilled talents but also an important measure for training vocational skills talents in the new era. The college will continue to deepen the integration of industry and education and college-enterprise cooperation, vigorously promote the spirit of craftsmanship and the spirit of model workers, and commit to training great craftsmen of the country and cultural giants, making greater contributions to the economic construction and social development of Hunan.
It is reported that the annual Hunan Provincial Skills Competition for Vocational Colleges is an important part of the national skills competitions for vocational colleges, and HNMMC has hosted the "provincial competition" for many years. To ensure the smooth progress of this competition, the college specifically held seminars, mobilization meetings, and deployment meetings, and provided training and guidance for the relevant staff.
