On November 16th, HNMMC’s 23rd Sports Meeting was grandly opened. College leaders Li Sanfu, Xie Jingwei, Cheng Guizhen, Xu Jingxue, Zhu Dan, Yang Jinhui, Shen Jianfei, Liu Guoqing, as well as heads of various departments (offices), deans, and general Party secretaries of secondary schools attended the opening ceremony.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Shen Jianfei, a member of the CPC Committee and Vice President of HNMMC. Accompanied by the March of the Athletes, the leading formation consisting of the national flag, Olympic five-ring flag, college flag, etc., marched past the rostrum with vigorous steps. The performance formations of the six secondary schools and the cheerleading formations followed closely behind, presenting a vibrant opening ceremony performance with unique creative arrangements and full spirited states, showcasing the excellent spiritual outlook of our students.
Secretary of the college’s CPC Committee, Li Sanfu delivered a warm opening speech and declared the opening of the event. He emphasized that carrying out campus sports activities and enhancing the physical fitness of teachers, students, and staff are important contents of the college's fundamental task of moral education. The college has always attached great importance to physical education, and teachers and students have always upheld the fine tradition of loving sports and exercise. Li Sanfu further pointed out that the college is striving to promote the reform of physical education, improve the quality of physical education, and give full play to the comprehensive role of sports in fostering and practicing the core socialist values and promoting quality-oriented education. He called on students to continuously improve their physical literacy, step out of their dormitories, and head to the playground to develop good exercise habits. Let the campus sports meeting become a wonderful stage for all teachers and students to vent their enthusiasm, understand the meaning of striving, and share the joy of sports. He hoped that students would bravely challenge themselves in a fair and just competitive environment, displaying a positive, healthy, united, and upward spirit.
This year's sports meeting lasted for two days and set up two competition groups: the freshman group and the sophomore-junior group, with a total of 640 athletes participating in 44 events. After two days of fierce competition, the School of Management won the first prize in the freshman mixed team category, the School of Visual Art and the School of Journalism and Communication won the second prize, and the School of New Media Technology, the School of Film and Television Art, and the School of International Communication won the third prize; the School of Management won the first prize in the sophomore-junior mixed team category, the School of New Media Technology and the School of Visual Art won the second prize, and the School of Journalism and Communication, the School of International Communication, and the School of Film and Television Art won the third prize; the School of Management, the School of International Communication, and the School of New Media Technology won the Sports Ethics Award of this sports meeting.
