The final round of the “Short Video Creation and Operation” Contest of 2023 National Vocational College Skills Competition was held on October 28th at Shaanxi Vocational & Technical College. Guided by our School of Journalism and Communication faculty members Li Xiang and Xu Fang, the student team composed of Luo Yao, Yi Chu, Yang Siqing, and Peng Jie emerged victorious after a five-hour competition, outshining 59 participating teams from across the country and securing the national second prize in the competition.

It is noteworthy that the "Short Video Creation and Operation" Contest is the first nationwide competition specifically designed for the journalism and communication major. The competition includes three modules: short video planning proposals, short video creation, and short video operation proposals. It comprehensively evaluates participants' analytical skills for the materials provided by the competition, their ability to refine themes, and their skills in copywriting.

The student team's achievement of the national second prize in this highly competitive event highlights the excellent strength of our School of Journalism and Communication in teaching quality, faculty strength, and academic research. Adhering to the principles of "promoting integration through competition" and "promoting teaching through competition", the school aims to achieve more outstanding results in future skills competitions. The goal is to cultivate more media talents with innovative thinking and a sense of social responsibility, contributing to the development of journalism and communication.
