On October 14th, the International Accounting Culture and Skills Competition of 2023 Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development & Technology Innovation Competition was held as scheduled. Faculty members Wu Ying and Yang Zhi from the School of Management, along with their team members Liu Jiayun, Luo Hong, and Zhang Yu, successfully advanced through the provincial-level (regional) qualifiers and the national finals, emerging victorious from over two hundred participating teams nationwide. After a rigorous 5-hour competition in the finals, they achieved outstanding results, securing a first prize at the provincial level and a first place in the national competition, earning a second prize. Wu Ying and Yang Zhi were awarded the Outstanding Guidance Teacher Award.
The competition, conducted through three-member team matches, assessed students' proficiency in digital intelligence technology, accounting knowledge and skills, and the application of digital intelligence technology in accounting work. It reflected the new trend of digitalization in accounting development under the digital economy, enhanced students' understanding of digitalized financial work in enterprises, and effectively improved students' comprehensive analytical abilities and professional qualities.
The college leadership and relevant faculty members provided strong support and professional guidance to the team. Adhering to the college motto, the team earnestly prepared and trained, ultimately achieving excellent results. From internal training to the final competition, they showcased the positive and enterprising spirit of our faculty and students, as well as their exceptional professional skills, fully demonstrating the college's academic quality and level of talent cultivation in terms of intrinsic development and personnel training.
In recent years, the School of Management has continuously deepened teaching reforms for the Big Data and Accounting major, actively exploring an integrated education model of "post, course, competition, and certificate". In line with the goals of professional talent cultivation and the characteristics of students, the competition played a leading role in major construction and the improvement of teaching quality. The achievements in this competition not only showcase the personal charm of our faculty and students but also reflect the positive outcomes of our proactive implementation of the "competition-driven teaching, learning, improvement, and construction" teaching model. In the next steps, this major will maintain its momentum, further deepen the reform of talent cultivation models, improve the quality of talent cultivation, promote high-quality development of modern vocational education, and tirelessly strive to cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents.
