On the auspicious occasion of the Double Ninth Festival, a manifestation of deep respect for the elderly, in order to promote the traditional virtues of the Chinese nation, namely "respecting, honoring, loving, and assisting the elderly", and to enrich the later years of retired comrades, HNMMC organized a festive event to celebrate the 2023 Double Ninth Festival and extend collective birthday wishes to our retired comrades on October 23rd. President He Zhanbing attended the event and delivered a congratulatory speech. Vice Presidents Cheng Guizhen and Xu Jingxue, as well as persons in charge of the Party and Government Office and the Retirement Affairs Office, 38 representatives aged 70 and above and retired comrades also participated in the event.
President He Zhanbing conveyed festive greetings and warm wishes to the elderly participants in the event, and briefed them on the substantial achievements made in the first half of the year by the college leadership in focusing on the development goal of "building a high-level institution and creating undergraduate programs". He highlighted the fruitful results achieved in advancing the internal development of the college, thanks to the unity and efforts of the vast number of faculty, students, and staff. He expressed profound respect and heartfelt gratitude to the retired comrades for their enthusiastic support and active contribution to the college's accomplishments. He hoped that the retirees, while enjoying their golden years, would continue to care for, support, and contribute valuable insights to the college's reforms and development, thereby providing positive energy for the college’s stability and progress.
In his address, Director Deng Jianhua of the Retirement Affairs Office emphasized that the experiences and wisdom of the elderly are precious assets of HNMMC. The college will continue to promote the traditional virtues of filial piety, respect for the elderly, and mutual assistance, creating an atmosphere of reverence and support for the elderly. The college is committed to providing thoughtful and caring services, allowing the retirees to enjoy a happy and healthy senior life while making new contributions to the college's development.
Representing the elderly, Ma Xinmin delivered a spirited speech, sincerely thanking the CPC HNMMC Committee for their care and support provided to the retirees, as well as acknowledging the hard work of the Retirement Affairs Office. He affirmed that the retirees would continue to play a role in contributing to the college's development and wished for the college to reach new heights in its reform and progress.
After the event, college leaders presented birthday gifts to the the elderly comrades and took commemorative photos with them, along with relevant department heads.
