Recently, HNMMC conducted orientation education for international students entering in the fall of 2023 in batches. All international students enrolled in Fall 2023, the responsible comrades from the International Exchange Office, relevant leaders of the secondary schools, and counselors attended the event.
During the orientation education, the International Exchange Office, on behalf of the college, extended a warm welcome to the arrival of international students. They introduced the basic overview of the college, as well as information on international cooperation and exchange. Additionally, the students were briefed on Chinese laws and regulations, as well as the disciplinary system of the college. The "International Student Handbook of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College” was thoroughly explained to strengthen international students' legal awareness and safety consciousness, aiding in their swift integration into the new environment.
Representatives from the School of International Communication, School of Film and Television Art, and School of Journalism and Communication respectively presented introductions to the majors for international students. Through these presentations, international students enhanced their understanding of their majors and further clarified their study plans in China.
In recent years, HNMMC has adhered to the "Chinese language + skills + culture" model for cultivating international vocational talents. It offers "Modern Chinese" and "Chinese Culture" courses to all international students. By strengthening Chinese language proficiency, enhancing professional skills, fostering cultural identity, the college has nurtured a group of international students who have a deep understanding of China and a friendly connection with the country. The college will continue to explore and practice the establishment of internationally influential vocational education standards, curriculum standards, and high-quality courses for international students.
