Professor Xiong Chuanwu from East China Normal University Delivered Lecture at Our College

On October 10th, Professor Xiong Chuanwu from the Faculty of Education at East China Normal University was invited to our college to give a special lecture, which was attended by more than 330 faculty and students.

Professor Xiong Chuanwu is an academic committee member of the Chinese Society of Education and the deputy chief member of the National Specialized Committee for Teaching Theory. He is also a senior visiting scholar at Columbia University in the United States. Pioneering the theoretical framework of "reflective teaching", he has disseminated the notion that "teaching cannot be separated from reflection" nationwide. Originating the concepts of "understanding education" and "naturally individualized teaching", he has guided over 1,000 primary and secondary schools since 1995, starting with Shanghai Yucai High School. His influence has spread to more than 20 provinces, cities and autonomous regions, helping numerous weak schools improve their quality and transform into locally outstanding or even renowned institutions. He has also established demonstration schools and districts for the reform of understanding education and naturally individualized teaching in various parts of the country.

Professor Xiong Chuanwu's lecture, titled "Smart Learning, Happy Life", elaborated on the approach to intelligent learning, covering topics such as setting reasonable learning goals, problem-oriented learning, and the effective use of learning methods. The lecture was insightful, employing a clear and accessible style with rich references. Professor Xiong actively engaged with the audience, creating a lively atmosphere and leaving a profound impact on the faculty and students present.
