Recently, the Security Department and Student Affairs Department of HNMMC invited units such as the Public Security Bureau of Changsha County, Traffic Police Brigade of Changsha County, Fire Rescue Brigade of Changsha County, and Xingsha Sub-district Office to enter the campus. They conducted a "First Lesson of the School Year" on the college track for over 3,900 freshmen with safety education as the theme. Xiao Kangzhou, the head of the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Public Security Bureau of Changsha County, delivered a presentation on preventing telecommunications and online fraud. Using videos, PPT presentations, and other forms, he introduced the nature and characteristics of new types of telecommunications and online fraud to teachers and students. Through real-life cases, he explained various common telecommunications fraud methods, such as brushing orders for rebates, part-time scams, exposing the tricks used by scammers. He proposed targeted preventive measures, teaching present teachers and students how to recognize, prevent, and avoid falling victim to fraud. He reminded students not to be tempted by small profits and unintentionally participate in fraud, falling into the crime of “assisting information network criminal activities”.
Yang Huang, the propaganda specialist of the Xingsha Brigade of the Traffic Police Brigade of Changsha County, delivered a lecture on traffic safety knowledge education. By explaining vivid and real traffic accident cases in Changsha County, he made students aware of the serious harm caused by not following traffic rules to individuals, families, and society. At the same time, he provided information on the rules and common sense of safe travel.
The Fire Rescue Brigade of Changsha County delegated an instructor from the Hunan Renren Juan Fire Safety Service Group Co., Ltd. in Xingsha Sub-district to give a lecture on fire safety knowledge. Using campus cases, he provided in-depth and easy-to-understand explanations about fire safety duties, fire safety management, firefighting facilities and equipment, evacuation methods, etc. He demonstrated the use of firefighting equipment such as fire extinguishers, hoses, water guns, and gas masks, and led students in a fire extinguishing drill.
Chen Xiangjiang, the head of the Anti-drug Lecturer Team of the Anti-Drug Association of Changsha County, provided a comprehensive interpretation of drug-related knowledge and prevention. He urged students to cherish life and stay away from drugs.
The presentations were lively and the content was rich. Teachers and students expressed that the safety education of the "First Lesson of the School Year" was beneficial. In future study and life, they will increase vigilance, strengthen safety awareness, respect life, and maintain good conduct.
