On July 21st, the 2023 "Chuyi Cup" Hunan Vocational College Teachers' Professional Competence Competition - Teaching Ability Competition concluded successfully. After intense competition, HNMMC secured 3 first prizes, 5 second prizes, and 1 third prize.
This competition featured 1,171 entries from 77 vocational and technical colleges across 14 cities and prefecture in Hunan, with a total of 4,460 teachers participating. HNMMC had 11 teams qualify for the provincial competition, and six of these teams advanced to the on-site finals. Each participating team was well-prepared, with clear teaching strategies, rational process designs, outstanding characteristics and innovations, and concise language expression. They demonstrated the effective use of modern information technology for blended online and offline teaching and skillfully integrated ideological and political education elements into their curriculum. This showcased the professional competence and qualities of our teachers in knowledge impart, skill development, and ideological education. In the end, the teams led by Ni Dong, Li Huiyi, and Liao Yanqiong each won a first prize, while the teams led by Liu Aiguo, Yang Yang, Shan Ludongdong, Sun Shanshan, and Wan Xin achieved second prizes. The team led by Wu Shu received a third prize.
Since the inception of the Hunan Vocational College Teachers' Professional Competence Competition, HNMMC's leadership has attached great importance to it and provided strong support in terms of expert guidance, hardware equipment, and logistical support. The Academic Affairs Office meticulously organized and planned the competition, inviting numerous experts from within and outside the province to provide multiple rounds of training, guidance, and refinement for the participating teams' instructional videos, teaching implementation reports, and on-site presentations. This dedication to excellence laid a solid foundation for our outstanding achievements in this competition. The 11 participating teams faced challenges head-on, devoted themselves wholeheartedly to preparation, and ultimately achieved remarkable results.
HNMMC has always adhered to the philosophy of "promoting teaching, learning, improvement, and research through competitions". We have used teacher professional competence competitions as a lever to vigorously advance the “Double High” construction and create high-level curriculum development teams. In the future, HNMMC will continue to use teaching ability competition as a catalyst, fully leverage the guiding and demonstrative role of competitions, deepen the "reform of the three teachings (teachers, textbooks and teaching methods)", explore comprehensive education through "post, course, competition, certificate and innovation", promote the development of high-level and structured teacher teaching innovation teams, advance curriculum construction, and nurture "dual-qualified" teachers. This will propel our educational and teaching work to new heights.
This competition, sponsored by the Department of Education of Hunan Province, lasted for four months and is the most prominent and influential teacher teaching competition in the field of vocational education in Hunan Province. It serves as a crucial platform for vocational colleges to showcase their teachers' teaching abilities and also a vital gauge for assessing the overall strength of vocational colleges in terms of educational quality and the development of their teaching staff.
