In the national finals of the Robot Process Automation Contest at the 2023 BRICS National Vocational Skills Competition, which concluded on July 4th, Li Qiuyang, a student from Class 2202 in the Big Data and Accounting major of the School of Management, led by Tong Li and guided by Yang Zhi, achieved the national third prize. This competition was organized by the Rotating Committee of the Competition: the Department of Higher Education and Training of South African, the Gauteng Provincial Government of South Africa, and the BRICS Business Council, with guidance for the China region provided by the China Center for International People-to-People Exchange of the Ministry of Education. It is a large-scale international skills competition.
In the fierce provincial selection competition, our School of Management team eliminated 90% of the competitors and advanced to the China Regional Qualifiers (and the domestic finals) as the top scorer in the Hunan region. In the China Regional Qualifiers, the faculty and students from the School of Management faced strong opponents with determination and competed on the same stage with participants from various provinces across the country in an all-English language environment, ultimately achieving outstanding results.
During the preparation period, the team of faculty and students received warm care and guidance from the leadership of the School of Management, as well as strong support and assistance from leaders and colleagues at all levels of HNMMC. The competition training proceeded in an orderly and smooth manner. This competition greatly inspired the enthusiasm of our faculty and students to adapt to new trends in the industry and learn new professional skills. Through participation in the competition, they promoted learning and teaching, achieving a new breakthrough in discipline competition and laying a solid foundation for the development of the discipline and major construction at the college.
