The National Teaching Resource Library Seminar and Summary Commendation Conference for the Major of Virtual Reality (VR) Technology Application hosted the Construction Project Group of the National Teaching Resource Library for the Major of VR Technology Application and organized by HNMMC was held successfully in Changsha from May 21st to 24th. Experts and scholars from the education sector, academic field, and industry gathered at the conference to summarize and commend the previous work on the resource library construction, discuss the continuous promotion and application of the library project, explore the development direction of new technologies such as VR in the context of artificial intelligence, and discuss talent cultivation.
The conference consisted of three parts: the commendation conference, keynote speeches, and company visits. Xie Jingwei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee, attended the conference and delivered a speech, while Liu Xiaodong, Dean of the School of Digital Media at Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering, presented a summary report on the library construction.
During the commendation session, the project group awarded completion certificates for 52 courses, presented outstanding organization awards to 10 participating units, and honored 56 course developers with outstanding individual awards.
Prominent experts from the academic and industry sectors, including Professor Hou Xiaoju, Deputy Secretary-General of the China Association for Educational Technology; Professor Sheng Hongyu from Beijing Union University; Director Guan Xiaoqing from Beijing Polytechnic; Wang Luyao from NetEase Youdao Information Technology (Hangzhou) Co., Ltd.; Shen Yanting from Shanghai GDI Data Integration Co., Ltd.; Zhu Xinchun from Shenzhen Future 3D Co., Ltd.; and Hou Qixin from Zhongke Taiyue Co., Ltd., delivered keynote speeches on topics such as the development of resource library construction, ideological and political education in curriculum, digital art transformation, and the ecological construction of digital technology industry practice teaching in the context of artificial intelligence.
On the morning of May 23rd, 11 teachers conducted special presentations on professional teaching team construction, VR major development and talent cultivation, and curriculum construction. In the afternoon, participating teachers visited No.1 Exhibition Hall of Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Park, Leyard Malanshan Virtual Production Base, HTC VIVEDU Information Technology Co., Ltd., and No.6 Studio of LETEYE CREAT Malanshan Video Cultural and Creative Base, to gain an understanding of and experience cutting-edge VR technology applications.
The Teaching Resource Library for the Major of VR Application Technology was approved by the Ministry of Education in November 2019. It was led by Chongqing College of Electronic Engineering, jointly hosted by HNMMC and Nanjing Vocational College of Information Technology, and involved the collaboration of 23 vocational colleges from 10 provinces and cities in China, as well as several leading enterprises such as Shanghai GDI Data Integration Co.,Ltd. It successfully passed the acceptance inspection by the Ministry of Education in December 2022. The convening of this conference is beneficial not only for further promoting the application and dissemination of the National Teaching Resource Library for the Major of VR Technology Application, but also for strengthening the teacher-teacher, college-college and college-enterprise communication and cooperation. It provides higher quality teaching resources and services for vocational education, accelerates the pace of talent cultivation, and cultivates more high-quality and versatile skilled professionals for the VR industry.
