Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the first batch of National Healthy School Construction Units, and HNMMC has successfully been selected.
According to the "Notice of the General Office of the Ministry of Education on Implementing the National Healthy School Construction Plan" (Letter of Department of Physical, Health and Arts Education [2022] No. 15), the selection process was conducted through schools' independent applications, recommendations and selections by provincial education departments, and expert evaluations organized by the Ministry of Education. The first batch includes 1,076 schools as national healthy school construction units, of which there are 47 schools in Hunan Province, including 8 primary schools, 23 middle schools, 11 undergraduate institutions, and 5 vocational colleges.
HNMMC has always attached great importance to physical education, health, and psychological education, and has been successively recognized as a pilot college for the comprehensive reform of "Three-wide Education" in Hunan Province, one of the first batch of strong vocational colleges for cultural construction in Hunan, a pilot institution for educational system reform in Hunan, and a demonstration center for psychological health construction in Hunan. HNMMC’s achievements in physical and health education are outstanding, and it has been awarded the titles of a national experimental college for cheerleading, a training site for the International Sport Dance Union, an international sports dance promotion center, an executive vice chairman unit of the Hunan Cheerleading Sports Association, and a star-level club for aerobics in Hunan Province.
In the next step, HNMMC will continue to enhance capacity for health promotion in accordance with the guidelines of the document. We will actively explore a collaborative education mechanism among families, schools, and society, further implement the concept of holistic education that emphasizes the development of all aspects, and establish a more comprehensive health governance system, health education system, and health service system. We aim to significantly improve students' health literacy and overall quality, promote their comprehensive development, and lead the construction of healthy families and healthy communities, thereby contributing to the local economy, society, and cultural development through education.
