On April 21st, the Training Class on Development and Planning of Animation Industry in Developing Countries, hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, conducted an online visit to HNMMC. Thirty officials and technical personnel in animation industry from Ethiopia, Gambia, Mauritius, and Sri Lanka participated in this exchange activity.
Xie Jingwei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee, delivered a welcome speech and led the students to virtually tour the campus through the camera, introducing them to the basic information of the college. The beautiful campus environment, distinctive educational features, advanced teaching conditions, and fruitful educational achievements left a deep impression on the foreign students. Xie Jingwei expressed that with the motto "Creativity Lights up Your Life," the college has established a professional development pattern focusing on "media content production," supported by "media technology" and "media management," while also incorporating "cultural education." The college's key areas of expertise include journalism and publishing, radio, film, and television, animation and art design, and new media technology.
The students focused on visiting the School of Visual Art and the All-media Comprehensive Training Room of Training Center.
Vice President Shen Jianfei introduced the basic situation of the School of Visual Art. Faculty members from the School of Visual Art guided the students to visit the art gallery, film and animation studio, animation design studio, and digital media art design studio. Studio teachers introduced the relevant information about the majors in film and animation, animation design, and digital media art design. The students from these majors also shared their course content and achievements with the foreign students, allowing them to understand the talent development model and progress of the animation industry talent training base of Hunan Province.
In the All-media Comprehensive Training Room of Training Center, the teachers and students jointly provided a detailed introduction to the ring screen projection system, Virtuix Omni treadmill, holographic imaging system, high-definition track robot, VR broadcasting system, and other facilities through explanations and demonstrations. They vividly showcased this comprehensive platform to practitioners in the animation industry from developing countries.
Since 2017, HNMMC has successively hosted nine batches of training classes organized by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, focusing on topics such as film and media management and technology, cultural heritage and cultural industries, and animation industry development and planning. We have received nearly 300 students from more than 20 developing countries, including Chile, Panama, Benin, Mali, Ethiopia, and Gambia. Several faculty members from our college have been invited to give academic lectures to the participants of these training classes. Such exchange activities have enhanced our college's international influence and reputation in developing countries, broadened channels for communication and cooperation between our college and developing countries in the fields of film and media, cultural industries, and animation industry, and laid a solid foundation for strengthening our college's international communication capacity and telling the Hunan chapter of the Chinese story effectively.
