On March 9, Ahmed Anwar, President of Villa College, Maldives, led a delegation to visit HNMMC. Li Sanfu, Secretary of the Party committee of HNMMC, and He Zhanbing, President of HNMMC met with Mr. Anwar. Xie Jingwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party committee, and Vice President Shen Jianfei accompanied the meeting.
Li Sanfu extended a warm welcome to president Anwar and his entourage. He said that the cooperation between Chang'an University, Villa College and HNMMC to build the Chinese Language Center at Villa College is a significant milestone in the exchange and cooperation between the three colleges. President Anwar's visit to HNMMC will further enhance the mutual understanding, promote communication and expand consensus between the two sides. He hoped that the two sides could rely on the development of the Chinese Language Center to further expand exchanges and cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, teacher team building, vocational skills training, and scientific research.
Anwar expressed gratitude for the warm reception and fully affirmed the early achievements of the cooperation between the two colleges to promote the construction of the Chinese Language Center. He indicated that the cooperative relationship between China and Maldives was firm and stable, and the two colleges had broad space for cooperation in the fields of people-to-people exchanges, cultural education, teachers and students training, specialties construction, academic research and other fields. He looked forward to establishing deeper and closer exchanges and cooperation with HNMMC.
He Zhanbing presided over the bilateral symposium. At the meeting, the two colleges signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation.
Before the meeting, the delegation of Villa College visited the campus and went to the Students’ Graduation Works Exhibition of the School of Visual Art, the Omni-media Interactive Studio Hall, the Base for International Promotion of Chinese Language and Culture , and the Base for Program Production of Hunan Radio and Television Station.
It is reported that in March 2020, HNMMC and Chang'an University were approved as the Chinese host institutions of the Chinese Language Center at Villa College, Maldives. The visit is the first off-line meeting between the two colleges after the global pandemic. Both sides will continue to promote the construction of the Chinese Language Center at Villa College, and further expand exchanges and cooperation in the fields of talent cultivation, teacher team construction, vocational skills training, scientific research, etc., and jointly build a "circle of friends" with the Chinese Language Center as the center.
