On the morning of March 8, the college held a meeting for the opening of the first semester of 2023. All college leaders attended the meeting. Middle-level cadres, professors, doctors, directors of teaching and research offices, student affairs officers, responsible persons of Democratic parties, NPC deputies at or above the county level, the Communist Party representatives, and CPPCC members attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Li Sanfu, Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee.
At the meeting, the college leaders summarized the achievements of their responsible areas in 2022 and deployed this year's work tasks.
The President of HNMMC He Zhanbing made a comprehensive review and summary on the achievements of the college in 2022 and arranged the key tasks in 2023. He pointed out that the new semester should have a new atmosphere, make new achievements, and take new responsibilities. He put forward four hopes for the growth of the cadre team: Firstly, leading cadres should guide the way by setting up practical ideals and aspirations at an early stage. Secondly, leading cadres should strengthen themselves with higher quality, and study hard to improve their abilities of insight, macro- control, coordination, resourcefulness and judgment, and use of personnel. Thirdly, leading cadres should be diligent and dedicated role models and do solid works in a down-to-earth manner instead of seeking false fame or vanity. Fourthly, leading cadres should cultivate themselves to stand firm in the world, setting strict demands on themselves, strengthening self-cultivation, and starting with themselves, from now, and from minor matters. He stressed that in 2023, the college will pay attention to the main line of study, publicity and implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, and closely follow the two key tasks of "building double highs and establishing undergraduate" by working on 10 tasks. All faculty and staff must pool their wisdom and efforts with a united thought and firm belief, work hard with vigor, and do a solid job on this year's work meticulously with strict requirements, practical style, venturous spirit, and strong responsibility, striving to complete the tasks of 2023 and accelerate the high-quality development of the college.
In the concluding speech, Li Sanfu, fully affirmed last year's work and achievements, and also pointed out the existing problems and deficiencies. Focusing on the long-term development of the college, he explained the new ideas, put forward new hopes, and clarified new requirements. Firstly, we must put emphasis on the Party building, boosting the integration of the Party building and education in the college, and leading the high-quality development of the college with high-quality Party building. Secondly, we should highlight two key points to build Chuyi's "double high colleges", and grasp the merger and transfer to university. Thirdly, the college shall implement three plans: improving quality and cultivating talents, strengthening the teaching team, and adjusting and upgrading specialties (groups). Fourthly, we must implement the transformation of educational concepts to pioneering and applicable ones, college management to precision and refinement, teaching methods to innovation and landmark, and student growth to craftsmanship and vocational purpose. Fifthly, we must build a "five types" college with a dense learning atmosphere, high quality and efficiency, digitization and integrity. The sixth is to achieve the "6 most" goals, aiming at "becoming the best college", "leading the best team", "playing the best role", "cultivating the best talents", "producing the best results" and "having the best mechanism". The seventh is to carry out 7 major projects, including the pilot project, the soul casting project, the leading wild goose project, the good governance project, the strong foundation project, the peak project, and the integrity project. He indicated that 2023 is the starting year to fully implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the CPC, the critical year for the college to implement the "14th Five-Year Plan", and the year of opportunities to upgrade to the undergraduate education level and strive for a new round of national "dual high colleges". All the cadres, faculty and staff should boost morale, forge ahead, and make a good plan for the development of the college by putting into practice the college’s tasks, and making the landmark achievements, so as to continuously drive the high-quality development of the college to a new level.
