The year 2023 is the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and this winter camp actively serves the "Belt and Road" initiative for the purpose of strengthening cultural exchange, language cooperation and mutual learning with the countries along the "Belt and Road". 134 participants from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, Brunei and other countries along the "Belt and Road" participated in a 12-day Chinese immersive situational teaching activity.

To "share China stories by good communications" and show a more realistic, vivid and three-dimensional China’s image to students from different countries, the winter camp, themed by "Online Gathering to Explore Charming Changsha", elaborately designed a set of Chinese culture and Chinese lessons with "Huxiang culture" as the core for the 100 participants. They experienced Chinese tea art, “Hunan specialties” and other intangible cultural heritage of Chinese Huxiang culture, enjoyed Hunan cultural attractions such as Orange Isle and Yuelu Academy, traveled online the world "V Valley"- Malanshan Video Cultural Creative Park, Hunan TV station and other representative places of the world media art capital, and “online taste” the Hunan's emerging national trendy consumer brands such as "Wenheyou” and “Chayan Yuese- Modern China Tea Shop”, holding a number of Chinese culture experience courses which are favoured by young participants.

"Yuelu Academy jue jue zi!" "Spicy lobster YYDS!" "Taobao YYDS!" During the class, the young students repeatedly imitated the tone of China's net generation youth to express their love for traditional Chinese culture and pop culture. At the closing ceremony, participant representative and Malaysian contracted artist Rao Minhui, who is also a Modern Pop Music advanced student in HNMMC, marveled at the depth of Huxiang culture in the history of Chu and Han dynasties, and was also extremely interested in Hunan's dense entertainment and cultural atmosphere, saying, "I love watching Hunan TV very much, and I follow all entertainment programs it produces." It is reported that, in order to let the young people from all over the world understand Chinese culture better, HNMMC has been hosting the "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency competition for Foreign College Students and its related activities for many years. It not only connected the countries along the "Belt and Road" through the medium of Chinese culture, but also showed the charm of Chinese language to the five continents who love Chinese culture. This "Chinese Bridge" winter camp is another exploration of international communication and cooperation after the pandemic. In recent years, HNMMC has been committed to giving full play to the features of "Chinese + Media", taking media education as the starting point and responding to the "Belt and Road" initiative to carry out international communication and cooperation. HNMMC has not only become the first higher vocational college in China to host an overseas Chinese language center, but also the cooperative institution of the Chinese Language Center at Villa College- first Chinese language center in Maldives. During the routine school running, HNMMC has cultivated a number of international students from countries along the "Belt and Road" as well as from Germany and Madagascar, and has carried out a series of media training and other teaching services for developing countries.
