On January 9, the "Chinese Bridge"- Online Gathering to Explore Charming Changsha" Winter Camp, sponsored by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation of the Ministry of Education, officially opened. 134 students and teachers from countries along the "Belt and Road" gathered online to participate in the opening ceremony. Li Sanfu, the Secretary of the Party Committee of HNMMC, second grade professor and doctoral supervisor of the college, delivered a welcome speech by video.
"Although the winter camp is only for ten days, it is a rare opportunity for me to learn a lot of new knowledge and to know more about the bright culture of China with long history", said Nguyen Mai Chi, a sophomore majoring in Chinese from the University of Finance and Economics in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, speaking on behalf of the participants at the opening ceremony, expressing their good hope to learn Chinese, make friends, visit Changsha and know China through this activity.
It is reported that this "Chinese Bridge" winter camp is the second time that HNMMC organized "Chinese Bridge" online Chinese language and culture learning experience program for various countries, which lasts for 12 days and sets up 4 online classes. In order to actively serve the "Belt and Road" initiative and strengthen the cultural exchange, language cooperation and mutual learning and appreciation of civilization with countries along the "Belt and Road", the winter camp is mainly for Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and other countries in the initiative. With the theme of "online gathering to explore charming Changsha", it carried out the project theme of video classes, live classes, online activities as the carrier of Chinese immersion scenario teaching. As one of the important parts in the design of this winter camp, HNMMC, as the organizer, combined with the specialites’ characteristics of the school, carefully created the special course topic of "Chinese + Media", leading the participants to "travel" to the "China V Valley" known as the Maranshan Video Creative Park, Hunan TV station and other media art landmarks, to experience the charm of Changsha, the world capital of media art. The "Dialogue with Poetry and Sound from Music" course is a chance to put ancient Chinese poetry on the wings of modern pop music. The "Hunan flavor" is also the highlight of the new design of this winter camp. The "Hunan specialties" course introduced Hunan embroidery, Hunan cuisine, Hunan porcelain, Hunan opera and other Hunan culture and product brands to the participants, helping "Hunan specialties" to go abroad.
