On August 19, the first World Conference onVocational and Technical Education Development Conference, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, the National Commission of the People's Republic of China for UNESCO and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, kicked off in Tianjin. Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Vice Premier of the State Council Sun Chunlan read out the congratulatory letter from President Xi Jinping and delivered a speech by video. Minister of Education Huai Jinpeng presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote speech entitled "Jointly Promote the High-quality Development of Global Vocational Education and Build a Beautiful World in the Post-pandemic Era". This is the first international vocational education conference initiated and sponsored in China, with about 700 representatives from 123 countries and regions around the world registered for participation. Li Sanfu, secretary of the Party Committee of HNMMC, led a team to attend the conference.
This conference focused on the theme of "Vocational and Technical Education Development in the Post-pandemic Era: New Changes, New Ways and New Skills", centering on the topics such as digital engergization, green skills, integration of production and education, skills and poverty reduction, promotion of equity, and lifelong learning. Participants shared the experience and achievements of vocational education development in their countries, discussed the impact of the post-pandemic era on the concept, method, content and other aspects of vocational education, as well as the direction and main tasks of global vocational education reform and development in the new circumstances.
The conference was held online and offline, including the opening ceremony, the main forum, 14 parallel forums, and the closing ceremony. At the opening ceremony, the general promotion video of the conference produced by the college won unanimous praise from the participants. The copy writing, choreography, actors, photography, lighting, art, music, post-production and other work of the promotion video were all completed by the teachers, students and alumni of HNMMC. It took three and a half months, over 100 people participated in the filming in Changsha, Tianjin, Beijing, Nanjing and other, making more than 16,000GB of the shooting material into 4GB of the final film quality. The team also completed the filming and release of the short video series "The Vocational Education Story I Know". This series of short films adopted multimedia interactive technology in a forward-looking manner. On-site audience can watch 20 short videos of vocational education stories through interactive operations to understand the development history of technological skills leading the progress of civilization.
Once receiving the task at the end of April this year, the college has set up a special working group and established a project as the college's social service horizontal subject. It has been introduced to 260 practical training class hours of the 18 professional courses, covering 11 media majors in the School of Journalism and Communication, the School of Visual Arts, the School of Film and Television Arts, and the School of International Communication. It allowed students to reach professional positions in a real working environment, trained their practical ability in an all-round way, and demonstrated distinctive features of the integration of teaching and production in media vocational education.
This promotion video task was arranged and deployed by the Ministry of Education, led by the Education Department of Hunan Province, and undertaken by HNMMC. College leaders Li Sanfu, Secretary of the Party Committee, He Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of HNMMC, and Yuan Weikun, former Secretary of the Party Committee of HNMMC, served as producers, and Vice President of HNMMC, Lei Junlin, as the director. A total of 24 teachers and 130 students from four secondary schools cooperated to complete this project with success, which fully demonstrated the excellent professional ability and dauntless spirit of our teachers and students.
Before the opening ceremony, Director Chen Ziji and Deputy Director Lin Yu of the Department of Vocational and Adult Education of the Ministry of Education, and Wang Renxiang, Deputy Director of the Education Department of Hunan Province took time out to meet the representatives of the video creator team, giving full recognition and high praise to their work.
