On June 1, the college held a ceremony to receive books donated by Central South University Press. Xu Jingxue, Vice President of HNMMC, attended the ceremony and presented a donation certificate to He Shuilai, Director of the Marketing Department of Central South University Press. The editorial department of Central South University Press, relevant persons in charge of the college library, the department of Ideological and Political Course and some staff of the library attended the ceremony.
At the donation ceremony, Xu Jingxue expressed his gratitude to the donating enterprise. He pointed out that at present, the entire college was now concentrating on and striving to carry out the new journey of the construction of “double highs college” at present. The construction of book resources was an important indicator of the high-quality development of the college. The Press’s donation not only enriched the college's collection resources, but also fully reflected the company's spirit of the "unity of knowing and doing, and innovative applications on reality". He encouraged the library to take this donation as an opportunity to keep up with the development of the college, focus on teachers and students, and assist the development of teaching and scientific research. Unremitting efforts should be made to optimize the allocation of book resources and build a book and literature information resource system and service system, so as to give full play to the functional role of the library in school talents cultivation, scientific research, cultural inheritance and innovation.
He Shuilai said that donating books to colleges was a unshirkable responsibility and obligation of the company. The company would continue to give strong support in the construction of book resources of HNMMC, enrich its collection resources, and contribute to the high-quality development of the college.
It is reported that in May this year, Central South University Press took the initiative to contact the college library to express its willingness to donate. The donated books totaled 1,733 volumes, with a total value of more than 65,000 yuan.
