On May 27th, HNMMC held the Seventh Session of the Fifth Faculty and Labour Union Member Representative Congress. 135 representatives of faculty, staff and labour union members, on behalf of all faculty and staff of the college, gathered together to discuss the development plan of the college. All the leaders of the college attended the meeting, Yuan Weikun, Secretary of the Party committee of HNMMC, delivered a speech, and He Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President of HNMMC, made a 2021 administrative work report entitled Be Brave and Innovative to Open a New Situation and Seek for Progress to a Higher Ground, Strive to Write a New Chapter of High-quality Development. Representatives of retired and old comrades were invited to attend the meeting.
In the solemn national anthem, the conference kicked off and was presided over by Vice President of HNMMC, Lei Junlin and Party Committee Member and Vice President Xie Jingwei. Xu Jingxue, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President, delivered an opening speech. All the representatives listened to the Administrative Work Report made by He Zhanbing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and President, the Labour Union Work Report made by Liu Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Labour Union, the Financial Work Report made by Jiang Minquan, Member of the Party Committee and Vice President , the Proposal Work Report made by Qian Ying, Director of the Labour Union Proposal Working Committee, the Trade Union Fund Review Report made by Yang Huangjiang, Director of the Labour Union Fund Review Committee, and the compilation illustration of the “14th Five-Year Plan” of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College (2021-2025) by Huang Linfei, Director of the Development Planning Division.
In the 2021 administrative work report, He Zhanbing comprehensively summarized and reviewed the gratifying achievements of the college in education and teaching in the past year, and put forward the key points of the college's administrative work in 2022. He pointed out that the general idea of the college's work in 2022 is to follow the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the CPC and the 19th Plenary Sessions, and conscientiously perform General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on education and the spirit of important instructions in his discourse in Hunan. We should carry out the series of deployments of the country and Hunan Province on vocational education reform, enhance the "four consciousnesses", strengthen the "four self-confidences", achieve "two maintenances", and carry forward the great spirit of the Party building by deepening our understanding of the decisive significance of the "two establishments" so as to effectively strengthen the Party's overall leadership over the work of the college. We must fully implement the Party's educational policy and the fundamental task of strengthening moral education and cultivating talents, and put emphasis on the goal of improving the level of running a school. Coordinated efforts should be made to facilitate the normalized epidemic prevention and control and the high-quality development of the undertakings. Based on the media and highlighting characteristics, we should vigorously cultivate high-skilled, applied and creative talents with all-round development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor, and provide reliable talent and intellectual support to the construction of a modernized new Hunan by improving the ability to serve the strategic positioning and mission of "three highlands and four new missions", in order to achieve comprehensive, and welcome the successful convening of the 20th National Congress of the CPC with solid actions and outstanding achievements.
On behalf of the 5th Labour Union Committee, Liu Guoqing delivered the 2021 Labour Union Work Report entitled To performing duties, be pioneering and united, and mobilizing faculty and staff to contribute to the high-quality development of the college. He summarized in all round the achievements of the 5th Labour Union Committee of the College last year, centering on the achievements made in the ideological and political leadership, the construction of democratic politics, the service guarantee system for faculty and staff, and the construction of the labour union team, and putting forward the main ideas for the labour union work in 2022.
In the group discussions of the delegations, the participants aired their minds freely, actively offered suggestions, discussed and reviewed all reports of the conference, and put forward valuable opinions and suggestions on the work of the college in all aspects.
In the afternoon meeting, Cheng Guizhen, Member of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Disciplinary Committee of the college, declared the Resolution (draft) of the conference. Representatives of all faculty, staff and labour union members voted on the Administrative Work Report, Labour Union Work Report, Financial Work Report, the “14th Five-Year Plan” of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College (2021-2025) and Resolution of the conference.
At the closing ceremony, on behalf of the college, Yuan Weikun delivered a speech and extended warm congratulations on the complete success of the conference and high respect and sincere greetings to all the faculty and staff who have worked hard for the construction and development of the college, and to the retired old comrades who cared and supported the college. Yuan Weikun pointed out that this conference was held at a critical period by the college to facilitate the action plan for improving quality and cultivating excellence, speed up the construction of "double highs", and improve the level of school running, which was a conference to carry on the past and open up a new chapter for the prosperous future. He put forward three opinions on the construction and development of the college. The first is to focus on the action plan for improving quality and cultivating talents to vigorously promote higher-quality development. The second is to take the declaration for “double-highs” as the starting point to comprehensively improve the level of running a school. The third is to take the construction of an honest and upright college as an opportunity, continuously strengthening the Party's leadership. He emphasized that the five-year development blueprint of the college has been drawn, and the annual key tasks have been arranged. The realization of the blueprint and goals lies in the implementation. Opportunities are fleeting, and competition is fierce. With goals standing in front and heavy responsibilities on our shoulders, we must strengthen our determination, arouse a higher fighting spirit, and burst out more enthusiasm, work hard to promote development to write new chapters and create a promising future. We must closely combine lofty goals and visions with diligence and solid work, make more comprehensive preparations, lay a more solid foundation, and contribute to more powerful forces. It is believed that with strong perseverance, we will overcome difficulties, write a brighter future for the college, and welcome the victory of the 20th Party Congress with practical achievements.
