A few days ago, the results of the first selection of the most beautiful ideological and political teachers, the most beautiful counselors, and the most beautiful college students in Hunan Province were released. The activity was jointly launched by the Publicity Department, the Education Working Committee of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee, and Education Department of Hunan Province. After university recommendation, qualification review, expert review, and result publicity, a total of 10 most beautiful ideological and political teachers, 10 most beautiful counselors, and 20 most beautiful college students were selected, including teacher Liu Aiguo and student Zhao Jiacheng.
Teacher Liu Aiguo is the deputy director and associate professor of the Ideological and Political Course Department of HNMMC. He has been engaged in the ideological and political education of college students for 15 years. Adhering to cultivating, schooling and teaching people by virtue, he has devoted himself to the study of education and teaching methods. He led the ideological and political teachers team to establish 3 curriculum standards of the course at college level and 2 excellent courses at provincial level. Under his guidance, his students won 3 first prizes, 2 second prizes, and 1 third prize in competitions above the provincial level. Professor Liu won the first prize of the First National Universities’ Ideological and Political Teaching Presentation in 2019, the title of Outstanding Teacher of Ideological and Political Theory Course in higher vocational colleges in 2018 by the Ideological and Political Teaching Steering Committee of Hunan Province, and the Advanced Individual of Ideological and Political work in 2019.
Zhao Jiacheng is a student from the class of 2020 in the School of Journalism and Communication. With great ambitions and virtue, he strive to be a talent shouldering responsibilities and possessing a spirit of dedication. He dares to challenge himself, actively participates in various competitions at all levels, and establishes a good example as a newcomer of the era. As a member of the Hunan Youth Lecturer Group, he has participated in dozens of lectures, covering nearly 10,000 youth members in the province, and guiding the youth of Hunan in the new era to devote themselves to forging ahead on a new journey. Serving as a young volunteer, he has participated in more than 180 volunteer service activities and volunteered for more than 1,000 hours. "Turn to volunteers when having difficulties and turn into a volunteer when having free time" has become his favorite concept and most beautiful action. He has gained more than 40 honors such as the “Three Good” Students of Hunan Province and the Excellent Model of Youth of Hunan Province.
It is reported that the "Most Beautiful Teacher of the Ideological and Political Course" requires candidates to be full-time ideological and political teachers who have worked for five years and are engaged in teaching at the frontline in the colleges and universities. The candidates should possess Marxist theoretical attainment and have significant achievements in the construction of ideological and political courses. As a teacher of ideological and political courses, the candidate must be a winner of the honorary title of provincial and ministerial level or above, or the award of national teaching competitions, and an owner of the first prize in teaching competitions at provincial level or above. At the same time, he is also a "Four Good" teacher with "noble morality, decent work style, caring for students, and remarkable results in teaching and educating people.
The "Most Beautiful College Student" requires candidates to "develop strong skills, good virtue and character through active participation in all kinds of social practices, innovation and entrepreneurship activities, etc.. Also, they all received the honorary title of "National University Student of the Year" or the honorary titles at municipal level or above. Meanwhile, this award is established for the students who take the responsibility to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation as their own and for the outstanding representatives who live up to their youth and the times.
This event is a vivid manifestation of proactively cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism. Through the selection of ideological and political work team of colleges and universities and advanced models of college students in the new era, all colleges and universities in Hunan have fully demonstrated their new results of the comprehensive reform work of "Three All Education".
In recent years, the college has achieved fruitful results in the comprehensive reform pilot of the "Three All Education". As one of the first batch of "Three All Education" comprehensive reform pilot colleges and the second batch of "Three All Education" comprehensive reform pilot universities in Hunan Province, HNMMC has vigorously explored and deepened the comprehensive reform, insisting on full participation, full-time engagement and complete coordination. Under the leadership of the college’s Party committee, all faculty and staff have consciously taken the mission of “cultivating people by strengthening moral education” as the fundamental task, heightened the subject consciousness and the sense of responsibility of educating people, and conducted direct or indirect ideological and political education and value guidance on students. Cultivating people by strengthening moral education must run through the entire process of student growth and development, through education and teaching of colleges and universities, and through all aspects of talent training. In particular, since the in-depth implementation of the Party history learning and education this year, the college has made a close integration between the Party history learning and education with the comprehensive reform of "Three All Education".
