Lecture by Professor Liu Xiao
On June 22, professor Liu Xiao, the former vice chairman of the Hunan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference and the former president of Changsha Social Work College, was invited to HNMMC to give an academic lecture. The lecture was presided over Yuan Weikun, secretary of the college’s Party committee, and participated by more than 200 people, including all the leadership, middle-level cadres, teachers titled above assistant professor, and directors of the Teaching and Research Offices.
The lecture delivered by Professor Liu, themed with "Blockchain Technology, Digital Economy and Education", on the basis of practical cases, gave an introduction to the production and development of Bitcoin, the realization mechanism of blockchain technology, etc., in terms of the mystery of Bitcoin, blockchain, digital economy, digital education, digital sovereignty applications. It interpreted the theory of blockchain "cryptography", "data storage structure" and other theories, and presented the development of the digital economy, and the pilot test application of digital currency electronic payment (DCEP) of the Central Bank in many cities in China. Professor Liu vividly demonstrated the application of blockchain technology in finance, education, and digital sovereignty application, including different application scenarios in various fields such as government affair services, medical health, tourism, food safety, elderly care, charity, and industrial Internet. This lecture was highly relevant and practical. It popularized the basic knowledge of blockchain technology and has a guiding significance for the college to use blockchain technology to drive forward the reform and development, helping all teachers be more future-minded in the impact of the blockchain technology on the corresponding industries and job supply chain, in further revising and improving the talent training plan, and in building a high-level teachers’ teaching innovation team and the reform of classroom teaching. Everyone has benefited a lot from the lecture with the frequent interaction and a warm atmosphere.
It is reported that Professor Liu is a deputy to the 9th and 10th National People's Congress, a member of the 11th and 12th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, a researcher on the theory of national civil affairs policy of the Ministry of Civil Affairs, a member of the Education Informationization Expert Group of the Ministry of Education, and a civil servant with the Merit Citation Class I in Hunan Province. He was awarded with the honorary title of "China’s Outstanding Principal of Vocational Education".
