On December 12, the Teaching Ability Competition of the 2020 National Vocational College Skills Competition came to an end at Hunan Chemicial Vocational Technology College. The team directed by Zeng Dan, Hu Rong, Zhou Xi, and Xie Bei from the School of Visual Arts of HNMMC (work: Run with the Dream, the Unity of Knowing and Doing- PS Composite Picture) and the team of Li Xiang, Xu Jueqi, Zou Yao, Guo Hua from the School of Journalism and Communication (work: Being the Youth of the Times, Telling Chinese Stories- Short Video Script Creation) both won the second prizes.
It’s reported that the contestants have demonstrated a good mental outlook, solid professionalism, and excellent teaching skills in the competition sections, including the report explanation, simulated lectures without students, and on-site defenses. This is the second time that our College has achieved excellent results in the national competition since winning the first and second prizes in the national competition in 2019.
The Teaching Ability Competition of the 2020 National Vocational College Skills Competition lasted for eight months from school competition, provincial competition to national competition, and it is the highest level of teaching competition in vocational colleges. Our College launched the school-level selection competition in April this year, which has drew great attention from the leadership at all levels. The secondary schools and the teaching department organized teachers to actively participate in preparation for the competition. The Academic Affairs Office has invited experts to the school for guidance several times. In the end, a total of 11 were selected to join in the provincial and national competitions. 267 teams from 34 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions across the country participated in the finals, where the HNMMC teams won 2 second prizes in the national competition, 2 first prizes and 3 third prizes in the provincial competition, demonstrating the achievements of our College's high-level construction of teaching staff.
The college will take these excellent results as an encouragement to continue to fully implement the Party’s educational policy, promoting teaching through competitions, and to create a high-level double-teacher team and school-level famous teachers by improving teachers’ competence in the application of information technology, innovation and creativity, as well as collaboration in order to build a good momentum of continuous improvement of vocational education and teaching quality, and accelerate the professional development of teachers.
