On June 23, the three-day contest items of "Piano Performance" and "Chinese Dance Performance" of the 2020 Hunan Vocational College Skills Competition came to an end at Hunan Vocational College of Art. The 6 contestants selected by the School of Film and Television Art of HNMMC won awards. In the "Piano Performance" contest item, student Zhou Kexin won the first prize and Chen Gu won the third prize guided by teacher Wang Caicai. Mu Jiahui guided by teacher Zhou Li won the third prize. In the "Chinese Dance Performance" contest item, Hu Na, guided by teacher Liu Fangfang, and Zhang Tanxiang, guided by Wang Jue won the second prizes. Liu Chengqian under the guidance of teacher Zhao Sisi won the third prize. HNMMC achieved a breakthrough in the first prize of "Piano Performance" of provincial competition. In both contest item, HNMMC has achieved the best results in history.
This competition is the second stage of the Hunan Vocational College Skills Competition. It was originally scheduled to be held in March 2020 and was postponed to June 21-23 due to the impact of the Covid-19. The college organized students for a 15-day training at school on June 6. Since the school has been conducting online classes, students majoring in Dance, Music Performance and Modern Popular Music haven’t received any practical guidance of on-site skill training for nearly 5 months. Chinese dance performance instructors Liu Fangfang, Wang Jue, Zhao Sisi, and Li Jiazi, piano performance instructors Wang Caicai, Zhou Li, Liu Jie, and the contestants have overcome numerous difficulties, doing overloaded exercises and working overtime. The School of Film and Television and the Academic Affairs Office also provided strong support for their training and participation.
