Recently, the Library and the School of Journalism and Communication of HNMMC invited famous writer Mr. Peng Jianming, the Honorary Chairman of Hunan Federation of Literature and Art, to give a special lecture in HNMMC. The lecture was hosted by Lei Junlin, the Vice President of HNMMC, and was witnessed by nearly 200 teachers and students.
Mr. Peng Jianming’s lecture entitled Talking about Non-fiction Writing between Peng Jianming and Young Students. In the lecture, based on the famous work Postmen in the Mountains and his new works The Warmth of the Cold Door, he started from the stories and experiences during production, and analyzed the techniques and methods of non-fiction writing in the novel creation. Mr. Peng Jianming believed that, as a writer who didn’t received professional training, he won the readers' love by diligence. He encouraged the students to work hard to discover the skills of art and refining life, to adopt a modest and prudent attitude, to show creativity whilst be rooted in reality and to be diligent in creation. In the interactive session, Mr. Peng Jianming gave a detailed answer to the students’ questions on the classic image creation, material refinement and writing style shaping.
Mr. Peng Jianming is a member of the Hunan Provincial Government Literature and History Librarian, a first-class writer, national member of the Chinese Writers Association, and an expert enjoying special allowances from the State Council. His novel Postmen in the Mountains had won the National Outstanding Short Story Award, the Best Feature Film Award for the Chinese Film Golden Rooster Award, the National Five One Project Award and several international film festival awards.
