On June 6th, HNMMC held the Poetry Readings Conference about Dragon Boat Festival for International Students. In the cheers and laughter, students from different countries celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival and experienced Chinese traditional culture.
During the event, Teacher Wang Xiaojue from the School of International Communication prepared a unique cultural experience class about Dragon Boat Festival for international students, which told the historical origins and legends of the festival. Students from Vietnam, Germany, Madagascar, Ukraine, Ecuador, Gambia and other countries listened to and recited poems in groups.Verses, like "The way stretches endless ahead, I shall search heaven and earth..."by Qu Yuan , were recited by international students accompanied by Chinese classical music. Both Li Yu’s Xiang Jian Huan or Qu Yuan's Li Sao showed their charm by the interpretation of international students. The activities were also interspersed with activities such as the quiz game about the Dragon Boat Festival, which drew great interest to the students. The outstanding players also won prizes.
In the process of knowing about the Dragon Boat Festival and poetry recitation, observing the festival custom and tasting Zongzi, international students had a deeper understanding of Chinese traditional culture and feeling about the festival’s fascination.
