On November 1st, the 18th Students’ Sports Meeting and 15th Faculties Sports Meeting were held in HNMMC successfully. Leaders presented in the sports meeting including Yuan Weikun, Ma Yujun, Liu Guoqing, Jiang Minquan, He Zhangbing, Cheng Guizhen, Xu Jingxue, Lei Junlin, Xie Jingwei and some leaders of the schools of the college.
The opening ceremony of the sports meeting was hosted by Vice-president He Zhenbing. With the rhythm of the Sportsmen March, the leading parade featured goose-stepping troop marching down the podium with the decoration of the national flag, Five-ring Olympic flag and the college banner; A total of six performing parade from different schools of the college followed closely, marching into the field with fresh spirits.
The President Ma Yujun delivered an opening speech. He mentioned that a healthy body will be of great help in our life and all the athletes shall embody the sports spirits of Friendship First, Competition Second for a real competition of your ability and quality. Our referees should enforce the law impartially to ensure fairness and justice;All faculties and students should behave yourself to follow the sports spirits of Higher, Faster and Stronger to make efforts to the developments of the college.
After that, Yuan Weikun, Secretary of the Party Committee, and the President Ma Yujun finished the ceremony with the dralion , highlighting the opening ceremony with cheers from teachers and students. After the Eye-lighting Ceremony, the Wushu Association showed us a splendid dralion dance performance. With the cheers and dralion performance, Yuan Weikun, Secretary of the Party Committee, officially declared that the sports meeting was opening.
There were 631 athletes enrolled in the sports meeting for 44 kinds of competitions. In addition, the 15th Faculties Sports Meeting held at the same time. A total of 12 branches of teachers’ union took part in this sports meeting for 6 group competitions. The top three of each competition and top three group will be awarded finally.
