The Written Examination of the Cross-bridge Contest
On July 8th, the Cross-bridge Contest of 17th Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was ended and will step into the semi-final stage. Under the topic of One World, One Family, almost 152 students from 141 areas in 118 countries have come to China to participate the competition.
The Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee, Yuan Weikun Witnessed Chinese Bridge Competition
On July 2nd , a group of 16 professional teachers and 12 volunteers from HNMMC arrived in Beijing and started the coordination work officially . During four days in Beijing , most of the preparation works were finalized by Beijing working group including airport pickup , professional guidance for the competition , contestants conference, visiting the Confucius Institute Headquarters and experiencing the Beijing Culture. Excellent teachers from HNMMC, majoring in Communication of Chinese as a Foreign Language , Business English , Music Performances , Dance Performances , Broadcasting and Hosting , have trained contestants in the field of language , performance , manners and etiquette to help them give a full preparation for Chinese Bridge Competition.
Contestants Lined up to Enter the Competition
Contestants entered into the Cross-bridge Contest in July 6th to 8th upon arriving in Changsha. There are four parts in this competition including written test, personal speech, Q&A and talent show, the points of which will be added into the second round accounting for 70% of the total score. Contestants showed themselves with all kinds of talents in the Cross-bridge Contest. The written test focused on the language skills in Chinese and their understanding on Chinese culture. It covered a lot from HSK Level 3 to HSK Level 6, giving an examination on listening, speaking, reading and writing comprehensively. Some of the contestants stands out after the written test. During the session of personal speech, the contestants were required to give a 90-second speech on the topic of One World, One Family. They delivered speeches about their stories with Chinese under different cultural backgrounds. Some of them explained their understandings on the One Belt and One Road with passion; some students viewed his personal opinion on Chinese Dream vividly; and others discussed the relationship and development between their countries and the whole world. During the talent show and Q&A process, the contestants combined the Chinese culture and western art perfectly, providing a wonderful demonstration of One World, One Family. The whole competition was highly interactive. Yuan Weikun, the Secretary of CPC HNMMC Committee, and some leaders presented in the competition and provided an overwhelming guidance on the coordination work.
The Cross-bridge Contest of Chinese Bridge
It is reported that since the 2007 Chinese Bridge-Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students was held in Hunan, especially, since the Base for International Promotion of Chinese Language and Culture has located here, HNMMC has co-organized the Chinese Bridge successfully for ten years. The Party and Administration of HNMMC have consistently attached great importance to the coordination work for 11 years. Since the opening ceremony of this Chinese Bridge Competition, the Secretary of the CPC HNMMC Committee Yuan Weikun and the President of HNMMC Ma Yujun have held several meetings to urge the implement of work. Working plans have been formulated in details covering receptio, publicity, logistics support, security and many other aspects, and elites have been selected and grouped for the success of this competition.
