Recently, China Scholarship Council announced the list of acceptance of “2018 China Scholarship Council Program for senior research scholars, visiting scholars and post doctorates sponsored by the government” and “2018 subproject of the cooperative program by China Scholarship Council and Hunan province - studying abroad program of the teaching method of higher education (management specialty in higher vocational education)”. In HNMMC, teacher Tao Chengwu of the Department of Physical Education, Professor Yeyi, Dean of the School of Management, and Professor Zhulin, Director of the Teaching Affairs Department received a full scholarship by CSC. This is the first time for our teachers to be admitted in the above programs.
The full funding program is one of the main selection programs of CSC. The selection rules are “individual application, employer recommendation, expert evaluation, merit-based enrollment”. The program is available to apply in the beginning of each year and the result is released in early April. Tao Chengwu would study in Louisiana State University in America as a visiting scholar for 12 months; Yeyi and Zhulin would participate in studying and academic training in National Institute of Education, and Nanyang Technological University as visiting scholars for 3 months. The approved programs would be financed by CSC for the expenses of a round-trip international travelling, scholarship and tuition during their study.
Studying abroad as visiting scholars is a vital measure for strengthening the teaching staff construction of HNMMC and an important way for internationalization of teachers. Through the policy guidance and expanding the channel for studying abroad, the college actively selects teachers to study in famous universities or scientific research institutions overseas each year. The college will take this as an exciting opportunity, supporting and encouraging more teachers to pursue advanced studies in the renowned foreign universities. In this way, the teachers are able to stay abreast of the academic front and development trend at home and abroad, improve their professional qualities so that we can further improve the international level of running our college and facilitate the excellent college construction and “Double Tops” construction.
