HNMMC Sent Teachers’Representatives to Technische Hochschule Deggendorf in Germany for Two-way Academic Exchange

From 25th February to 11th March, an academic exchange delegation, comprised of 20 backbone teachers in the School of Journalism and Communication, the School of Visual Art and the School of New Media Technology, was sent to Technische Hochschule Deggendorf for academic exchange, themed with “digital media education in the context of media convergence ”.


             

In the morning of 26th February, Technische Hochschule Deggendorf warmly welcomed our teachers. The former president Dr. Reinhard Hoepfl, the dean of the School of Continuing Education Wolfgang Stern and other college leaders, as well as Mrs. Ji, principal of the BSK International (Organization for International Academic Exchange) presented in the welcome ceremonies. After the welcome ceremony, the group members visited the campus in the company of the college’s principals. 


             

The 15-day program in Germany mainly contained modern higher education management, “dual system” education mode, curriculum construction, diagnosis of the teaching quality. Technische Hochschule Deggendorf formulated detailed teaching plan and arranged professors in media application specialty and principals of the department and local media enterprises to have a topic discussion. It enabled all the participants to fully understand the advanced experience of German vocational education in specialty construction, assessment of teaching quality, dual system, credit system, modularization teaching, applying for and using the third-party funds, college-enterprise cooperation and other aspects. During the academic exchange, our teachers conscientiously studied with positive thinking and had a deep communication with German experts and professors in their specialty fields. By writing the academic exchange diary and summarizing in time, they had a deeper understanding about the higher vocational education in Germany.

             

In addition, the group visited and inspected the technology campus of Technische Hochschule Deggendorf, Bavarian Film Studio in Munich, Duna Television Station, which gave our teachers intuitive understanding of German vocational education, media industry and the organization form of college-enterprise cooperation.

Funded in 1994, Technische Hochschule Deggendorf is a public college of applied technology in Germany. At present, it has over 6000 students and mainly focuses on engineering technology, information technology, economics and media application. Oriented by cultivating the students’ ability to solve practical problems and the international teaching, the college, surrounded by dense academic atmosphere, has 4 courses on the top position of practical education field. Therefore, it is known as one of the best colleges of applied technology in Germany.


             

       

The two-way exchange and academic in Germany was an important content of teaching staff construction in the program of building an excellent college, which was helpful to broaden our teachers’ horizons and provided a useful reference to us in education and teaching reform, diagnosis and change, “Double Tops” construction, and high-quality construction of higher vocational education in the future.
