The curtain descended on the 2018 Hunan Provincial Skills Competition in Vocational Colleges. Our college took part in 22 events of 8 specialties and won 26 awards, including 7 first prizes in the spoken English individual(major), VR animation design and production individual, information security management and assessment team tournament, mobile internet application development, and virtual reality design and production; 11 second prizes in the spoken English individual(non-major), tour guide service individual (English), tour guide service individual (mandarin), skill contest of e-commerce, contest design and production of HTML5 Media Convergence, product packaging design and manufacture, art professional skills individual (Chinese traditional dance performance), apparel design and technology (design) individual, integrated skill contest of banking business and other events; 8 third prizes in the accounting skill individual, financial management and decision making skills individual, “Internet+” enterprises operation and management skill individual, information security management and assessment individual, apparel design and technology (design) individual, landscape design and construction, and the integrated skill competition of banking business.
In the competition, our college sent the largest teams and won the largest number of awards over the years. The college paid high attention to the significant role the skill competition played in teaching reform and talent cultivation, building the long-term mechanism of getting everyone involved in the competition and forming a general and regular competition system and a sound cultivation and selection system. The faculty and students were fully engaged in the competition, which contributed to a positive education atmosphere by promoting learning and teaching through the games. The competition fully showed our talent cultivation level and specialty construction achievements, which impelled us to further deepen the education and teaching reform and innovate the talent cultivation mode.
