On January 16th, president Ma Yujun and secretary of Discipline Inspection Commission Cheng Guizhen had a forum with the foreign teachers and students. People was present at the forum included the foreign teacher Julija Stonyte, foreign students from Madagascar, South Africa, Senegal and other countries, related director from the International Exchanges Division and the School of International Communication.

At the forum, Ma Yujun, on behalf of the college, extended a warm welcome to the foreign teachers and students. He showed his great concern over their recent situation of the work and study and patiently listened their suggestions and opinions about the international education of my college. During the discussion, President Ma stated that in recent years, my college had made positive progress on the international exchange and cooperation. The “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students co-organized by my college once a year had become a remarkable business card of my college in international exchange. The college would further strengthen the connotation development and improve the cultivation mechanism for foreign students to attract more students to my college, especially the students from the countries along “the Belt and Road”. And my college would continue to provide scholarship to support those students from the countries along “the Belt and Road”. President Ma and Secretary Cheng both hoped that the foreign teachers and students would work and study hard, keep forging ahead, and proactively spread Chinese culture by sharing the life experience of their work and study at the college with other foreigners. In this way, more friends in the world would understand Chinese culture and more teachers and students were expected to come to my college.
In the meantime, Ma Yujun demanded that the International Exchanges Division and the School of International Communication should further clarify responsibilities with concerted efforts, by reinforcing the teaching management, assessment and evaluation of the foreign teachers, and carrying out careful management to guarantee the employing foreign teachers higher effectiveness. In the new semester of 2018, the college would receive new foreign students, which urged that great efforts should be made in improving the foreign students’ course construction, talents cultivation mode, specialty setup, teaching management, teaching methods and daily management, to promote my college’s ability and level of international education.
The foreign teachers and students expressed sincere gratitude for the delicate work and thoughtful arrangement of the college. Julija Stonyte promised that in the next semester, he would continuously produce innovative teaching methods and carry out more colorful foreign language teaching activities in order to enhance students’ comprehensive language skills. Njaka Jucencesitraka Andriambol Anoro from Madagascar hoped to be a teacher in Chinese rural area, making use of the multilingual advantage to help rural children become talents in the future. Siphiwe Moranzi Masilela from Serbia and Elimane Diop from South Africa wanted to return their own country after finishing studies in China and applied what they learned to “the Belt and Road” Initiative between China and their countries, making contributions to the relations of China to Serbia and South Africa.
Close to the Chinese New Year, President Ma and Secretary Cheng extended New Year greetings to the foreign teachers and students, and wished they have a good winter holiday. After the forum, Ma Yujun represented the college and presented Chinese culture souvenirs as a gift to the foreign teachers and students.
