On January 2nd, 2018, with the theme of “keeping the era’s mission in mind, writing the article of life”, our college held the report meeting of “Campus Speaking Tour” and “Online Visit” by excellent counselors in Hunan colleges and universities in order to study, publicize and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
Cui Hengyuan, associate researcher of Publicity Department in the Education Working Committee of Hunan provincial Party committee, was presented at the report meeting. People attended the meeting included Vice President of my college Xu Jingxue, secretaries of general Party branches in the secondary schools, related leaders of Student Affairs Department, Youth League Committee of our college, Publicity and United Front Work Department, directors of Ideological and Political Education Department, all of the counselors, and student delegates in the secondary schools.
The college leaders met with the members of the report group. President Ma Yujun extended welcome and gratitude to the report group and introduced our college’s in-depth learning and implementing the Spirit of the 19th National Congress of CPC and the ideological and political education work for young students, wishing the meeting a complete success. Cui Hengyuan introduced the activity of learning and implementing the spirit of the 19th National Congress of CPC—“Campus Speaking Tour” and “Online Visit” by excellent counselors in Hunan colleges and universities. He encouraged the young students to study hard and make contributions in the great progress of achieving “the Two Centenary Goals”. Xu Jingxue addressed that this “Double Tours” activity was not only a vital measure to learning and publicizing the spirit, but also a powerful way to strengthen the ideological and political education for our students. He called on the young students to actively learn the spirit and become new youth in the new era, armed with the thought of socialism with Chinese characteristics by Xi Jinping.
The first-prize winner of the 6th Hunan Provincial Contest of the Professional Competence of Counselors—Li Miaolei, a counselor in Central South University, on the theme of “a new leap of theory”, proposed that the contemporary youth were the witnesses, participants, builders and decision-makers of the next 100 years. The era assigned new missions and responsibility to today’s youth.
The first-prize winner of the Hunan Provincial Speech Competition with the Theme of “Socialism is on Trend”—Chang Lai, a counselor in Hunan Agricultural University, on the theme of “huge ship sets sail—China will be the leader of human”, narrated how the Chinese stood up, got rich and became strong in history, which inspired all of the students present.
Hunan Provincial University Counselor of the Year in 2016—Li Yijun, a counselor in Xiangtan University, themed with “being firmly confident in our culture, we are at the right time”, pointed out that cultural self-confidence should be more fundamental, extensive and profound, and we should be more grounded and powerful to the cultural self-confidence.
Hunan Provincial University Counselor of the Year in 2015—Ouyang Zhichao, a counselor in Hunan University of Science and Engineering, themed with “priority development in education build a better China”, stated that education in China should be comprehensive, more importantly, insist on thinking while learning and understanding while practicing. Great efforts should be made to study hard, think deeply, fulfill the practical actions and keep the knowledge in mind.
Hunan Provincial University Counselor of the Year in 2016—Xiao Haiying, a counselor in our college, on the theme of “raising our heads and striding forward to the new era, the new youth will fulfill the Chinese dream ”, presented that the new era calls for the new generation to bear the new mission in mind, to carry out the youthful dreams of the Chinese dream, and to devote themselves to the most needed places in our country.
At the report meeting, the remarkable speeches pushed the meeting to a climax, winning waves of warm applauses from the teachers and students.
