On December 12th – 13th, 2017, Xie Jingwei, Member of the college Party Committee and Vice President of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College led a team to attend the 12th Confucius Institute Conference in Xi’an. The conference, themed with “ Deepen cooperation, Developing through innovation, Working Fogether to Build a Community with a Shared Future for Manking”, was witnessed by nearly 2500 university presidents and delegates of Confucius Institutes from more than 140 regions and countries.

Jointly researched and developed by my college and SDSU(San Diego State University) Confucius Institate, the Chinese teaching resource package Tian Dee Panda and the characteristic textbook Learning Chinese by Songs were on display at the conference and were greatly welcomed by the delegates. Tian Dee Panda was developed in line with the Chinese teaching standards and demands in America, including the elementary, intermediate and advanced Chinese textbooks featured by Tian Dee Panda animation and the matching teaching tools and learning materials featured by bamboo cultural products, such as Allegro, ink brush and flute. Equipped with animation production and art editor, Learning Chinese by Songs selected of the best selection of classical Chinese children’s songs as the music products for promoting Chinese Language. The research and development, animation production, product design, dubbing and reading in Tian Dee Panda, Learning Chinese by Songs and other projects were completed by the top teaching team with the frout-line professional teachers from the School of Visual Art, the School of New Media Technology, the School of Film and Television Art.

My college has made a long-term commitment to widely carrying out the international exchange and cooperation and actively promoting Chinese to the world with a broad perspective and open mind. Appraved by Hanban, Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College is a base for international promotion of chinese language and culture (Hanban). The college has successfully undertaken the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students for ten years and the Examination for Volunteers Chinese Teachers to Thailand, Philippines and Indonesia for three years.
