The promotion session of the Summer Work & Travel USA for College Students in 2018 divided into three sessions was held on November 8th and 28th. Nearly 600 faculty and students attended the promotion session which was organized by the Division of International Exchange, the School of International Communication, the School of Visual Art and the School of Management, .
At the meeting, four students from the School of International Communication separately narrated their experiences of studying, working, and living in the us and gains in America. They are Tang Yuan, Liu Qin from Class 1503 of Business English specialty, Shu Wenji from Class 1501 of Modern Communication specialty and Luo Yali from Class 1603 of Business English specialty. Zhou Shuai from Hebei Provincial Association on International Education Exchange introduced the project in 2018 and answered the questions from students. Exquisite PPT, vivid videos and shares of personal experience inspired the students present to interact actively.
The Summer Work & Travel USA for College Students is one of the important measures to further broaden students’ international perspective, develop their intercultural communication competence and social competitiveness and comprehensively improve their overall qualities. It also enables to deepen the college’s international communication and cooperation and promote the quality of training the talents. The college carried out this project in 2017 for the first time and 9 students took part in it. After the three-month life and social practice in America, they broadened their horizons by experiencing the differences between China and America, learned to be grateful and to help each other by developing the earnest working attitude and tempered their wills by training the ability to live independently. In particular, they not only required valuable social practical experience overseas, but also applied the knowledge leant in the classes to the real workplace, which made them well-prepared for obtaining jobs or even starting business in the future.
At present, the application for the Summer Work & Travel USA for College Students in 2018 is in progress and will be closed on December 30th, 2017.
