On October 30th to November 3rd, the provincial key construction project of the 12th Five-Year Plan—the team for Broadcasting and Hosting Specialty of the provincial characteristic demonstration specialty construction went to Singapore for training and learning. The team was comprised of Liling, Xiong Xiaowei, Linqian, Jiang Lifen, Pan Danfen and Fan Jinchao.
In the three-and-half days in Singapore, the teachers paid a visit to two universities—National Institute of Education and Nanyang Technological University, three higher vocational institues—Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, and one secondary vocational college—Institute of Technical Education. They visited the classrooms, libraries, training rooms, student activity centers, gyms, basketball courts, natatorium, and canteens and closely observed the teachers teaching, having face-to-face communication with the teachers and students. In National Institute of Education, the local teachers intentionally establish small-sized classroom for special topic teaching, giving specific introduction to the cultivation and management of human resource, the education characteristics of Singapore, and the teaching mode of Singapore Polytechnic. During their visit, the research team members also had a discussion around the table, timely exchanging their opinions about the construction of the Broadcasting and Hosting Specialty.
After returning to China, the team members were engaged in the report of the study results. On the afternoon of November 14th, Team Learning Day, the backbone teachers Linqian and Jiang Lifen, on behalf of the team of the characteristic demonstration specialty projects, delivered the report on the construction results of the provincial characteristic demonstration specialty projects for Broadcasting and Hosting Specialty and the research and learning results in Singapore. The whole faculty of School of Film and Television Art attended this meeting.
It is reported that the trip to Singapore is an important part of the teaching staff construction of the provincial demonstration characteristic projects for Broadcasting and Hosting Specialty. After three years effort, this profession has established a provincial-level professional teaching team, led by famous teachers and combining the college with TV Station. Now the school has 2 provincial-level specialty leaders, 1 professor, 2 associate professor, 1 domestic visiting scholar, 6 backbone teachers, and more than 60% of teachers with Master's and Doctor's Degrees. The coverage of teacher training reaches 100%. In the past three years, the professional teachers have achieved in publishing over 40 research papers, 8 award-winning research results, 12 works and textbooks, over 20 award-winning results in the teaching mode reform, and successfully declaring 4 provincial-level subjects, 1 department-level subject and 4 school-level subjects. The specialty construction achievements play a demonstrative and leading role in the related fields.
