Closing Ceremony for Military Training & Opening Ceremony for Freshmen in 2017 held in the College

In the morning of September 29th, the Closing Ceremony for Military Training and Opening Ceremony for Freshman Year in 2017 was held on the track-and-field ground of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College. Ma Yujun, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee and President of the College, reviewed the squares and delivered a speech. Liu Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, Jiang Minquan, Member of the College Party Committee and Vice President, Cheng Guizhen, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection  Commission, Xu Jingxue, Member of the College Party Committee and Vice President, Xie Jingwei, Member of the College Party Committee and Vice President, Yu Dan, Undersecretary of People’s Armed Force Department of Changsha County, Yang Wenjie, Captain of Military Training Instructors in the School of Non-commissioned Officers of Changsha Aeronautical Vocational and Technical College, deans of schools in Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College, the secretary of the general Party branch, leaders in relevant functional departments, the representatives of teachers and the representatives of students were on the rostrum. Lei Junlin was the chairperson for the ceremony.

              

The ceremony was unveiled in solemn national anthem. Ma Yujun, accompanied by military training instructors, reviewed the squares. The students, with a total number of 3,550, were divided into 6 battalions and 54 companies. They passed the rostrum in an orderly and robust pace and with an energetic spirit. The freshmen demonstrated march-past and large squares under the command of their instructors.

              
 

Liu Guoqing,deputy secretary of the College Party Committee, read the Commendation Decision of Freshmen Military Training. Leaders of the college issued awards to excellent groups and individuals in the military training. Ma Yujun presented banners to military training instructors.

              

Member of the College Party Committee and Vice President Xu Jingxue,delivered a concluding speech. In his speech, Xu Jingxue pointed out several characteristics of the military training: leaders attached great importance to it; it was well managed; the students were strict with themselves and trained hard; the instructors trained the students with great efforts, etc. He expected all the freshmen to cherish and carry on the achievements they made in the military training. He also expected them to cherish their time, courses and life in college.

             

Ma Yujun, on behalf of all the faculty in the College, extended his warm welcome to 3,550 freshmen in 2017 and expressed his heartfelt thanks to all the instructors, teachers and assistant instructors. He expected to start a new journey with all the freshmen with great sincerity. As President of the College and a teacher, he suggested that all the freshmen should make great efforts to be moral, enthusiastic and independent. He also expected them to live a rich and meaningful college life and achieve fruitful results.

             

Qi Tianxiang, a student from Class 1703 of Broadcasting and Hosting major in the School of Film & Television Art, Li Ruilin, a student in the School of International Communication and Chairperson of the 17th Student Union, and Wen Linbin, a teacher in the School of New Media Technology delivered speeches as a representative of freshmen, non-freshmen and teachers respectively. Leaders in the College conferred a college badge to representatives of freshmen.

All the freshmen took an oath which resounded through the whole campus: I’m a student in Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College. I oath to take national rejuvenation as my own mission. I will cultivate my morality, improve myself unceasingly, walk the talk, respect teachers and their teaching, be fond of learning and pursuit excellence. I will take the spirit of craftsmen, carry on human civilization and put the school motto “Creativity Lights up Your Life” into practice so as to add glory to the College.
