From August 27th to September 2nd, Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College held the seminar on ability promotion for cadres in Peking University. 41 leaders and cadres above middle chief level attended the seminar lasting for one week. Yuan Weikun, Secretary of the College Party Committee, Ma Yujun, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee and President of the College and Yu Junli, Dean Assistant of Peking University School of Government attended the opening ceremony. Yuan Weikun delivered a speech to make requests and present expectations for the seminar.
During the seminar, all participants had lectures given by famous professors and experts in Universities and education research institutions, including Peking University, Renmin University of China, Research Center for Social Science Development in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education, and Beijing Normal University. With their broad horizon and profound knowledge, the experts gave systematic training to participants from the aspects of cultural innovation in colleges and universities, public opinion management, two-level management system in colleges and universities, global economic situation, the art of leadership, ideological work in colleges and universities, reform of talent cultivation models in higher vocational colleges and international vocational technology education development. The participants also visited Z-Innoway and Entrepreneur Camp in Peking University. During group discussion, all participants shared their experience and opinions about the development of the College, especially the construction of excellent colleges and the realization of “Double First-rate (first-rate universities and first-rate disciplines)”. They expressed their gratitude for the college to provide them with such an opportunity to receive systematic training. They gained a lot and they were ready to put what they have learned into practice.
In the closing ceremony, Liu Guoqing, Deputy Secretary of the College Party Committee, delivered a concluding speech for the seminar and awarded certificates to the participants.
