Student Volunteer Representation Lei Dong Delivered a Speech in the Symposium on Poverty Alleviation Practice Program for College Volunteers in Hunan Province

On the afternoon of September 12th, the Symposium on Poverty Alleviation Practice Program for College Volunteers in Hunan Province was held in the conference center of Jiusuo Hotel. The chairperson was Sui Zhongcheng, Vice-governor of Hunan Province. Wu Lan, Deputy Secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, together with relevant leaders in the Education Department of Hunan Province, the Finance Department of Hunan Province, Poverty Alleviation Office of Hunan Province and over 70 colleges and universities in Hunan, attended the symposium. Leaders from 10 colleges and universities, along with  student representatives from 5 colleges and universities including Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College, delivered speeches.

             

Lei Dong, volunteer representative from Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College, made a summary speech of his gains and experience from the practice program. According to his own understanding for further implementation of provincial poverty alleviation, he also proposed several suggestions including strengthening party construction at grassroots level, enhancing endogenic power of poverty alleviation, improving infrastructure conditions, and taking role models into full play. Xu Jingxue, Vice President of the College, attended the symposium as well.

             

Wu Lan, Deputy Secretary of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee delivered the concluding speech. She fully recognized the achievements made in the practice program and emphasized that relevant staff should make the achievements into full use, adopt suggestions carefully and draw on past experience to tackle problems and boost poverty alleviation.
