On July 17th, the launching ceremony of 2017 Poverty Alleviation Program for College Students in Xupu County was unveiled in the Xupu People’s Hall. The ceremony was chaired by Yang Lianxi, Deputy Secretary of Xupu County Party Committee, Wang Qiaolan, Standing Committee of Xupu County Party Committee and Director of Xupu Minister of the Organization, Cao Zhaosheng, Party Secretary of County Poverty Alleviation Office, and Yan Anmin,Divection of Xupu County Education,Bureau delivered speeches. Yang Huangjiang, Director of Student Affairs Department, attended the ceremony on behalf of Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College.
During the ceremony, the leader of the program gave a pep talk to the students for stronger belief, determined will and growth on ability. After the launching ceremony, staff from the Xupu Poverty Alleviation Office trained teachers and students for basic business knowledge in poverty alleviation. As the main participants of Xupu Poverty Alleviation Program, more than 60 teachers and students from Hunan Mass Media Vocational and Technical College attended the meeting and the training.
In the afternoon, teachers and students were divided into 21 investigation groups and would visited 11 towns and 63 villages for poverty investigation, including Beidouxi Town, Xiaohenglong Village, Dajiangkou Town and Longtan Town. Each group got contact with township governments immediately after the arrival, making arrangements on the work for the next 14 days. Many groups of investigators devoted themselves into the investigation right after their arrival regardless of the tiredness from the long distance and hot weather, and were praised by the local people and governments. According to the work arrangement, another team led by College Youth League Committee will visit Chenxi County to carry out theme practice activities. For the next 14 days, 22 investigation groups, based on the arrangements of the Provincial Poverty Alleviation Office and the Provincial Department of Education, will start their work and finish with efficiency along the Xushui River.
